Himachal Pradesh
Himachal Pradesh produces best quality apples. Apple is the main fruit crop here and is grown in almost all the districts of the state. Starting with the state capital of Shimla, , then Kotagarh( 82 kms fom Shimla), Mandi, Chamba, Kinnaur and Kullu are famed for their excellent apple orchards.
Uttarakhand
In Dev Bhumi Uttaranchal apple varieties produced are mainly Red and Golden Delicious. Major Apple orchards can be found in the regions of Nainital, Ranikhet, Almora, Pithauragarh, Tehri, Pauri, Chamoli, Uttarkashi & the state capital of Dehradun.
Kashmir
The paradise on earth Kashmir valley produces about 9.0 lac tonnes of apple every year. Major Apple orchards can be found in the districts of Anantnag and Baramulla.
