Yes Kinnow Tourism is now a reality and consists of staying in a sprawling Kinnow(Mandarin) farms with the sight of orange coloured Kinnows dangling from small trees. It is just not only staying stay amidst Kinnows all around and plucking them as the farmers do but also get enlightened about the ways they are being processed into healthy juices.
Kinnow a hybrid of two citrus cultivars the ‘king’ and the ‘willow leaf’is a major citrus fruit cultivated in the northern states of India. Rich in vitamin C Kinnow is produced in abundance during the winter months with the peak season between December and March.
Kinnow is mainly grown in the state of Punjab, in Hoshiarpur and Abohar-Ferozepur belts. The sprawling Kinnow farms have added a new dimension to the charm of enjoying a holiday in accordance to the rustic ways of life in rural Punjab.
